"Fantasy Island" International Fishing Tournament

XIII International Fishing Tournament "FANTASY ISLAND"
OCTOBER 17th TO OCTOBER 20th

Fantasy Island Beach Resort organizes the "Fantasy Island International Tournament". By the middle of October you can participate in one the most famous & perstigious Fishing Tournament of the Caribbean.

During the four days of the Tournament, you can enjoy the fishing of the Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sail Fish, Tuna, Dolpin Fish, Wahoo, King Fish, Barracuda,...

ENROLLMENT FOR THE FISHING TOURNAMENT

1. $ 90.00 includes the right to participate, four t-shirts, four caps.
2. Fuel, bait and ice are not included.
3. Each participant will have to provide its own fishing boat
4. If the participant decides to cancel its participation, there will be no refunds.
5. The Resort will not be held responsible for any damages, harm, accidents that may occur in the fishing boats, or to the people who use them..

Tournament Regulations:

1. The allowed methods are: Trolling and drifting, with fishing line and rod wheel.
2. The line used should not exceed 80 lbs of resistance. It's allowed for boat leaders to use wire lines.
   
3. There is no limitation for bait use, artificial or natural, there will be BALLYHOO available for sale.
4. It's totally prohibited the use of firearms, explosives, harpoons, or electric rod wheels.

Regulations for Fishing boats and Competitors:

1. All competitors and boats that wish to participate will have to meet the requirements for the fishing tournament.
2. Each boat will be able to register a maximum of four (4) competitors plus the captain, a total of five (5).
3. No competitor will be able to be register in more than one (1) boat.
4. Any competitor can be replaced in any boat. The substitute will have to enroll one day before sailing.
5. In the category of "ladies" the crew must be only females.
6. In the category of " teens" will be allowed teenagers no older than (16) sixteen and no younger than (12) twelve.
7. In the children's category will be allowed from (6) to (11) years accompany with one adult or with the captain.

*** In the categories of LADIES & TEENS they would have to be accompanied by a male captain.

Scores for the Specimens:

BLUE MARLIN: 150 lbs minimum = 300 points + (1) per additional pound.
WHITE MARLIN: 45 lbs minimum = 250 points + (1) per additional pound.
SAIL FISH: 35 lbs minimum = 140 points + (1) point per additional pound.
NOTE: the first fish that is brought which is under the stipulated weight will not be penalized, but it does not count, but all the subsequent fish of the same boat, with weight under the stipulated, will have a 50 points fine for each one.

TUNA 20 lbs minimum = 50 points + (1) point per additional pound.
DOLPHIN FISH: 20 lbs minimum = 50 points + (1) point per additional pound.
WAHOO: 20 lbs minimum = 50 points+ (1) point per additional pound.
KING FISH: 20 lbs minimum = 502 points + (1) point per additional pound.
BARRACUDA: 5 lbs minimum = 25 points + (1) point per additional pound.
NOTE: the barracuda DOES NOT qualify for "Grand Champion" and is allowed, only in the categories of " LADIES", TEENS and CHILDREN".

SPECIFICATIONS:

1. All hookups of Friday and Saturday will have to be reported before 5 p.m in order to qualify for weight record in those days. On Saturday the tournament will end at 6 p.m. There will be no fishing on Sunday, only the prize ceremony will be held this day at 6 p.m
2. The judges decision will be final: the judges will be chosen by Fantasy Island Beach Resort:
3. There will be three judges appointed: any violation to the fishing tournament violations will have as an end result the immediate disqualification of the participant. The before mentioned is valid for fishing boats and crew.
4. In case of a tie, the first piece qualified for weight, will be the winner.
5. To participate in the tournament, all boats will have to fulfill all the requirements established Naval Force of Honduras: a) Radio communication, life guard vests for each crew and first aid kit, b) paddles, flash lights, flare lights, anchor and navigation lights in good shape.
6. 6. The official channel for radio communication during the tournament will be channel 19, in order to make a quicker weighing of pieces, it will be required to report the hookups and fish that will be carried onboard. The usage of channel 19 will be limited only to give reports. The emergency channel will be 16.
